Girls’ Football Tournament—6th October 2017

On Friday 6th October Holy Apostles’ entered the Girls Football Tournament at Prestbury St Mary’s Junior School.

The first match was against Gotherington, Bea Jordan stood out for her hard work and     determination, we won 3-0. Next we played against Swindon Village and Daisy Pilkington and Ellie Eldridge did some excellent midfield work and attacking runs, the final score was  5-2.  When we played our final match of our round against Tirlebrook, Keira Fletcher and Lara Ustok showed some fantastic defending skills.   The girls won every match in their round and played with amazing team spirit and skill, which meant they reached the final against Bishops Cleeve (the current holders of  the trophy).  A tough match with numerous opportunities for both sides finished at 1-1.  This meant it had to go to  a penalty shoot out to decide the final winner, which ended in 3-2 to Bishops Cleeve.  The girls were disappointed but should be proud of their achievement, I certainly was.   Special mention also to Abby Dundas for some awesome saves as goalkeeper and Poppy Sullivan and Elsa Rumsey who were our top goal scorers.

Well done to all the team!

The team were Abby Dundas, Ellie Eldridge, Keira Fletcher, Bea Jordan, Daisy Pilkington, Elsa Rumsey, Poppy Sullivan and Lara Ustok

World Book Day - 2nd March 2017

The pupils at Holy Apostles School had a great time celebrating World Book Day this year. Everyone dressed up as a book character and brought in books to read from home. There were lots of book-inspired activities taking place during the day in each class. In the afternoon all pupils completed a 'Sponsored Read' to raise money for further improvement of reading resources in school. Here are just a few photos of the day!
